Buddhist monks in Bodhgaya
..
I am about to take the road again. In one week I will be in Thailand and in one month in New Zealand. Departures mark new steps in life, they are the beginning of the exploration of “the unknown”. Today I was wondering what this new trip will bring me.
As I was wandering into my imagination, my mind took me back to my previous adventures. Instead of trying to imagine in vain the future, I started to ask to myself: what did your last travel bring you? Good question.
My last trip was India. I obviously discovered plenty of places, people and traditions there. But I came to the conclusion that the aspect which amazed me the most was the ubiquitous spiritual life. At almost every corner you will find a temple or an ashram (hindu monastry equivalent). In 3 months I saw more religious persons (saddhus, swamis, buddhist monks, pilgrims, devotees…) than in my whole life.
Spirituality is definitly the first image that comes to my mind when I think about India. So what did this travel bring me? Hummm… it would be a never ending metaphysical debate, so I prefer to leave your imagination to this set of pictures ;)
